Candidate profile

• Education : Completed university degree in computer science or a comparable field of study; at least 3 years of experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role within the IT services industry.
• Know- how : solid professional knowledge of operating systems: Windows, Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS) and virtualization technologies: VMware, Hyper-V; Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell and Bash; Experience with automated configuration management tools: Ansible, Puppet.
• The following certifications are a plus : ITIL Foundation, VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA).
• Working style : Hands-on mentality, analytical, structured and solution-oriented mindset with a strong sense of responsibility.
• Languages : Business fluent English (min.B2) and Germans skills are a plus.

Your responsibilities

• Installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux servers (physical, virtual).
• DNS, NAS, SAN Infrastructure maintenance and administration.
• Maintain and administer web application servers and services (Apache, Nginx, Tomcat).
• Maintain and administer the VMware infrastructure and monitoring application (Icinga, Grafana and Prometheus, etc.).
• Managing backup and recovery processes across all servers.
• Managing user and system accounts.
• Monitoring of system performance, identifying bottlenecks, and optimising performance.
• Diagnosing and repairing faults, removing errors in systems.
• Root cause analysis and incident management for "Server and Infrastructure” related incidents.
• Participate in 2nd + 3rd line support teams for "Server and Infrastructure” related activities.
• Creating scripts and automating repetitive processes.
• Executing routine tasks and controlling activities.
• Identifying and applying security patches and bug fixes.
• Reacting to alarms and cybersecurity incidents.
