Tasks
We are looking for a Head of Product & Engineering to help us scale our SaaS platform globally. In this role, you will take full ownership of our product and engineering organization and define how we build, ship, and scale our product. Your mission is to turn a successful product into a high-velocity, scalable platform supported by a strong engineering culture and product organization. You will work closely with the founders to shape the company’s next phase of growth.
🎖️What success looks like
In your first month
- You will develop a deep understanding of our product, architecture, team structure, and development cycle.
- You will align with the founders on a clear product and engineering strategy for the next 6–12 months.
- You will identify the 1–3 main constraints affecting delivery speed, stability, and scalability.
- You will establish baseline metrics for delivery, reliability, and team capacity.
By 3 months
- You will implement improvements to the product development lifecycle to increase delivery speed and predictability.
- You will establish a clear and realistic product roadmap and implement strong prioritisation and planning processes across Product and Engineering to ensure consistent execution against it.
- You will launch key initiatives to address the most critical delivery constraints.
- You will strengthen engineering practices around reliability, testing, and release management.
- You will define a scalable operating model for Product and Engineering (roles, responsibilities, decision processes).
By 6 months
- You will establish a scalable product and engineering architecture that supports faster feature delivery and long-term platform growth.
- You will ensure consistent delivery against the product roadmap.
- You will build a strong product and engineering leadership structure that supports team growth and autonomy.
- You will introduce pragmatic use of AI and automation to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
- You will deliver measurable improvements in delivery lead time, release reliability, and team effectiveness.
Requirements
🚀 What You Need to Be Successful
- You have proven experience leading Product and Engineering organizations in a B2B SaaS environment and have successfully scaled teams and systems during periods of rapid growth.
- You bring experience working closely with founders or executive leadership to shape product and technology strategy.
- You have demonstrated the ability to improve development processes and systems to increase delivery speed, predictability, and reliability.
- You bring a strong understanding of modern SaaS architecture and scalable platform design, and know how to balance diverse customer requirements with a coherent product architecture.
- You are able to align product strategy, engineering execution, and business goals to drive meaningful outcomes.
- You genuinely enjoy leadership and take pride in guiding, mentoring, and developing high-performing engineering teams.
- You have a pragmatic, outcome-driven mindset and focus on solving real problems rather than adding unnecessary complexity.
- You think in systems, can identify the key constraints that limit delivery speed and organizational performance, and enjoy systematically removing them one at a time.
- You are curious about how AI and automation can improve productivity and operational efficiency, and you apply them pragmatically where they create real impact.
- You are fluent in both German and English.
🛠️ Must have tools/technologies
- You bring cloud infrastructure knowledge (e.g., AWS, GCP, or similar)
- You have experience working with monolithic applications and evolving them toward more scalable architectures
- You have experience working with backend and frontend technologies similar to our stack (e.g., Java, Flutter, Spring Boot, Vue.js)
⭐ Nice to have skills
- You have experience scaling a SaaS company through international or global growth.
- You have experience in platform-based or integration-heavy products.
