Mechanical Engineer (f/m/d)
Über diesen Job
Founded in late 2024, Omnisent is a Munich-based acoustic AI company developing next-generation sensing systems that turn sound into real-time intelligence. The team combines deep expertise in physics, machine learning, and mechanical engineering — united by a mission to unlock the untapped intelligence of the acoustic world.
At the core of Omnisent’s innovation are ultra-low-power sonic devices and the company’s Large Acoustic Model (LAM) — a foundation model trained on the complex world of non-speech audio. This unique combination enables the real-time detection, classification, and localization of acoustic events — whether identifying drones in contested airspace or tracing air leaks in manufacturing systems.
Tasks
- Design, assemble, and modify aerial and robotic platforms used for system testing.
- Build mechanical test rigs and fixtures for acoustic, RF, and structural evaluations.
- Plan and execute experiments in controlled lab environments, including data collection and documentation.
- Rapidly prototype using FDM, SLA, SLS, and subtractive methods such as CNC machining and waterjet cutting.
- Contribute to enclosure and component designs that balance acoustics, thermals, durability, and manufacturability.
- Own product lifecycle tasks, including BOM maintenance, revision tracking, and test documentation.
- Prepare fixtures and prototypes for external testing houses and manufacturing partners.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to help bring a deep-tech product from concept to real-world deployment.
Requirements
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
- Strong foundations in mechanical design and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Onshape, etc.).
- Hands-on, practical mindset with experience in prototyping and testing.
- Organized working style with attention to documentation and design traceability.
- Strong communication skills in English (German a plus).
- EU work authorization.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience working on drones, robots, or electromechanical systems.
- Exposure to FEA or simulation tools.
- Experience collaborating with testing labs or external engineering partners.
- Interest in large-scale sensing and advanced monitoring technologies.
Benefits
- Competitive Compensation: Highly competitive cash comp, along with virtual stock options, that reflect your experience and the value you bring.
- Accelerated Learning & Growth: Join a fast-paced environment where you’ll take on real responsibility, overcome meaningful challenges, and grow alongside a driven team.
- Make a Real Impact: Play a key role in shaping Omnisent’s journey and contribute directly to the success of the company.
Join us in redefining how the world listens, understands, and responds through intelligent acoustic sensing.
In your cover letter, we’d love to hear about your personal interests, what drives you, why this role feels like the right fit — and most importantly, why Omnisent.
