The Micro and Nano Systems Business Unit, based in Neuchâtel, Switzerland is looking for a business-savvy, inspiring and communicative Group Leader – Nanoscale Technology Group.

Your mission

Nanoscale Technology group is a key asset within the Micro and Nano System Business Unit.

With its portfolio of technologies, leading edge infrastructures and world-class expertise, the group plays a pivotal role in providing advanced solutions to the industrial sectors of Watchmaking, Aerospace, Life Science and Energy.

You will ensure an open, collaborative, and vibrant work environment to foster employee’s creativity and innovation spirit to the service of our customers. Thanks to your strong management experience and as member of the Business Unit management team, you will lead your group toward technical excellence, client centricity, continuous and sustainable growth.

Your responsibilities

• Develop CSEM activities related to Nanoscale Technologies, with a primary focus on applications in surfaces, interfaces and sensing
• Lead the technical activities of the group towards excellence by breaking current frontiers
• Be responsible of the group financial performance and projects portfolio
• Decisively contribute to the technology roadmap and project acquisition
• Manage your team by defining team member’s annual objectives and appraisals, training needs, and providing support and guidance
• Foster interactions and collaborations with industrial customers and research partners
• Inspire the group creativity and foster a collaborative and open spirit
• As company ambassador represent CSEM at events, workshops and conferences

Your profile

Know-how

You are a motivated expert with sound management experience, holding either a MS or a PhD in Chemistry or Material Science other relevant technical domains with a proven track-record in the following fields:

• Nanoscale science and technologies at the interface between physics and chemistry
• In-depth surface and interface physics, chemistry and fabrication processes
• Sensing technologies, including chemical detection and applications
• Surface modification processes, surface functionalization, structuration and coatings in both liquid and vapor phase
• General knowledge of micro- and nano-fabrication processes and methodologies, incl. DOE, SPC, Stage & Gate qualification
• Nanoparticles, nanocomposites, material engineering: design / synthesis / characterization
• Application of the developed processes and technologies in domains such as MEMS, sensors for health or environment monitoring, new devices for aeronautics / aerospace, watchmaking, energy and life science
• Successful development and technology transfer into products or industrial applications are strong asset
