Eurofins Agroscience Services EcoChem GmbH is part of the Eurofins Agroscience Services global network, providing analytical studies to support the screening, development and registration of test substances in Europe, the US and beyond according to international guidelines.

We are looking for an strategic Business Unit Manager to lead Eurofins Agroscience Services EcoChem GmbH, driving operational excellence and growth in delivering high-quality analytical studies and scientific services for the global registration of agrochemicals, chemicals, biocides, and medicinal products.

Stellenbeschreibung

General Management
• Lead according to Eurofins Leadership Charter and act as a role model for leadership and staff. Eurofins leadership principles give a very large degree of autonomy to each Business’ Leader (within agreed upon financial and operational performance measures).
• Together with the Sub-Rbl leaders and Business Unit Managers of the companies in the business line, establish and communicate a clear vision and culture for the business unit. Foster an environment which stimulates open communication, creativity and imagination, and engenders a team spirit in solving problems and identifying and capturing new business opportunities.
• Act as Eurofins representative, as shareholder representative and as Managing Director (MD)

Corporate Strategy
• Develop with its leadership team strategic plans for each business regarding service portfolio, sourcing and IT solutions to maximize the profitable growth of all businesses.
• Work closely with key functional leaders of businesses on critical business issues such as competitive positioning and competitive strategy; sales force effectiveness; tests portfolio, costs reduction; new business development; and other initiatives to drive increased revenue growth. With the leaders of the companies in his/her scope, create a value proposition that will support revenue growth and increased customer loyalty.
• Participate in Key Account and relationship management as required.

Operations
• Accountable for the consolidated P&L.
• Increase operational effectiveness, productivity and bottom-line results, by implementing best-in-class processes and metrics.
• Define and agree goals and milestones with the leaders of the company in your scope, and ensure goals are defined and communicated to their respective teams. Follow up as appropriate and become hands on if required to ensure achievement of goals.
• Analyze operating results and their principal components relative to established objectives. Ensure the soundness of the business’ financial structure; take appropriate steps for corrective action as required with the leaders of the companies in his/her scope.
• Overall responsibility for Quality of services and compliance with all legal and contractual obligations in all businesses of his/her scope. Set up appropriate control mechanisms to detect any relevant deviation.

People
• Motivate, retain, develop and recruit excellent employees for his/her scope and ensure they do the same for each of their teams.
• Implement strong performance management and team development processes along group recommendations and using group goals when available.
• Assess current talent and ensure that there is a highly committed and capable management team in place in each company, and that these leaders are coaching and mentoring potential successors and incumbents and/or bringing in additional talent as needed.

Qualifikationen

Experience
• Several years of professional experience.
• Several years of these in a leading position and with proven financial success, preferably in the business services sector or in a mid-size company operating in a very competitive sector.

Education
• Master degree required in the area of Chemistry or Life Sciences
• PhD degree or MBA highly preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Strong experience in identification of merger & acquisition targets, as well as business integration
