The Position

We are looking for you as a Scientist Peptide Synthesis (m/f/d ) within Roche Diagnostic Solutions (RDS) R&D to strengthen our team in the "Peptide Chemistry" department. In this exciting position, you will be involved in optimizations related to the synthesis, modification, and ligation of peptides. In the Roche Diagnostic Solutions (RDS) R&D - Reagent Research & Design (RRD) - Chemistry Solutions department, we are setting new chemical standards. Based on modern synthetic and analytical methods, we design and develop a variety of chemical components for diagnostics and pharma. Our mission is to provide chemical solutions for diagnostic questions across the entire product portfolio.

The opportunity

• You will independently plan and carry out complex peptide syntheses in the laboratory, including the isolation, purification, and characterization of the molecules.

• You will confidently document, interpret, and present your results to the relevant committees and stakeholders.

• To develop new solutions beyond established approaches and actively support the development of new concepts and ideas will be your responsibility as well

• You will conscientiously adhere to internal and external guidelines on occupational safety, health protection, environmental protection, and quality assurance.

• Supporting your manager with project management tasks and the technical supervision of employees will be one of your additional responsibilities.

Who You Are

• You have successfully completed a degree in chemistry and a doctorate in the field of organic chemistry, preferably in peptide chemistry.

• You have at least three years of professional experience in peptide chemistry and ideally 1–3 years in an industrial environment.

• You have very good knowledge of modern peptide chemistry, especially in native chemical ligation.

• You have good knowledge in the development of substances for APIs, in enzyme kinetics, and in the Design of Experiments, as well as basic knowledge in biochemistry.

• Your working style is characterized by experience in project management, and you have business-fluent English communication skills.

This position is limited to 2 years.
