Your Tasks

As Head of Software Engineering at Threema, you will be responsible for product engineering. This includes both technical responsibility and team leadership:

• Leadership of the Software Engineering department with 20+ developers across six teams

• Leading cross-team projects

• Responsibility for the technical roadmap

• Close collaboration with the CTO and Head of Product as part of the product process

• Promoting an agile and innovative development culture

• Coaching and mentoring

• Hiring new talent

With your expertise and extensive experience, you will contribute new ideas to the engineering team and accompany us on our journey from a small to a medium-sized company.

Your Skills

• A degree in computer science or comparable education

• Minimum of five years of experience leading technical teams in software development

• Minimum of ten years of experience in software development and architecture

• Ability to identify the right people for the team during the hiring process

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Analytical and strategic thinking

• Ability to find the right balance between high quality and pragmatism, depending on the context

• Positive mindset and the ability to inspire a team to work toward a shared goal and roadmap

• Good written and spoken German and English
