The Community College of Philadelphia’s Division of Workforce Development is seeking a dedicated and professional Massage Therapy Practicum (Bodywork) Instructor to join our instructional team. Workforce Development strives to be the preferred training partner for regional businesses and organizations by offering high-quality, non-credit training and continuing professional education programs that serve both incumbent workers and individuals entering the workforce.

We are seeking a licensed massage therapy professional who is committed to student success and understands the diverse backgrounds, needs, and strengths of our student population. The ideal candidate will foster a respectful and inclusive instructional environment, while helping students build the academic knowledge and professional demeanor necessary to succeed in the massage therapy industry after graduation.

The Massage Therapy Practicum Instructor will be responsible for delivering supervised practicum course as part of our non-credit Massage Therapy Program. This role includes providing hands-on training, mentorship, and evaluation of student performance in both clinical and simulated environments.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct instruction in the supervised lab practicum course, focusing on bodywork techniques, professionalism, and client care.

  • Support and assess students as they apply learned skills in real or simulated practice settings.

  • Review and enforce techniques learned in massage therapy courses.

  • Incorporate appropriate teaching-learning strategies, technologies, and assessment methods for evaluation of student learning into the course.

  • Meet all scheduled classes and adhere to schedule, which includes final exam times and other program-related testing.

  • Collaborate with Director in the development and revision of courses of study and curricula.

  • Submit required reports on student attendance to Director.

  • Be qualified and prepared to teach foundational content in Clinical Foundations, Anatomy & Physiology, Kinesiology, and Pathology.

  • Guide students in developing effective communication, critical thinking, and workplace professionalism.

  • Foster a positive, respectful, and professional learning environment that reflects the values and diversity of CCP’s student body.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma required.

  • Must be a Licensed PA Massage Therapist.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a licensed massage therapist required.

  • Demonstrated ability to teach students of all abilities required.

  • Demonstrated commitment to work with diverse populations, such as under-resourced groups and first-generation students required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

  • 3 to 5 years of experience teaching Massage Therapy preferred.
