Data & AI Specialist (m/f/d) – Human-AI Loop & Hotel Construction Data
PART TIME / FULL TIME | ROTENBURG WUEMME | MAINLY ON SITE
All around the world, thousands of new hotel projects and creative designs are coming to life — and that’s the world we’re part of. TOPHOTELPROJECTS GmbH is the leading global source for data and insights on hotel developments and brands.
TOPHOTELPROJECTS GmbH is the leading information and data service provider for international hotel construction projects and hotel brands. Through our centrally maintained, cloud-based platform, we provide structured hotel project data and market information via a web interface that is used by our customers in research, sales and analysis processes.
To bring our data research and products into the AI age, we are creating a new role in the Data & AI department – with a clear focus on human-AI loops around our hotel construction database.
Your Role:
Human-AI loop for data research (focus)
- Development and establishment of human-AI loops in our research processes: AI supports the research, classification and enrichment of project data, while humans validate, correct and provide feedback.
- Defining quality criteria, review steps and feedback processes to ensure that AI outputs become reliably, comprehensibly and measurably better.
- Designing clear guidelines: When can AI act automatically, and when is human review mandatory (data quality, relevance, risks, edge cases)?
- Structuring roles in the human-AI loop (e.g. operator, reviewer, decision-maker) together with IT and specialist departments.
AI chatbot based on our hotel construction database
- Design and implementation of an internal AI chatbot that accesses our hotel construction database and other internal knowledge sources to answer questions from research, sales and management.
- Setting up the technical basis (e.g. LLM + retrieval/RAG + vector database) in collaboration with IT & Data Management.
- Development and testing of prompts, guardrails and evaluation metrics (e.g. relevance, accuracy, hallucination rate), including integration into the human-AI loop (feedback from use flows back)
Data & Systems
- Analysing and structuring our existing data sets (hotel construction projects, chains, operators, sources) with a view to AI suitability (data quality, schema, access).
- Support with data modelling, data quality and system integration (e.g. SQL, APIs) so that data can be used for AI use cases such as semantic search, text-to-SQL or automated reports.
- Close cooperation with IT & Data Management in setting up data interfaces and reporting basics.
AI enablement for specialist departments
- Advising specialist departments on which AI tools are suitable for which tasks (research, editing, sales, management), including limitations and risks.
- Creation of pragmatic guidelines and short training courses for the productive, safe use of AI in everyday work.
- Monitoring relevant developments in the field of AI and evaluating which solutions are suitable for our use cases – without hype.
Your Profile:
Must-have
- You are fluent in German at native speaker level or at least C1 and can clearly present complex technical content in writing and orally (mandatory requirement). Please only apply if you speak German at C1 level or higher.
- You have a confident command of English at least at B2 level, enabling you to use technical documentation, specialist articles and tools with ease.
- Very good knowledge of working with data (e.g. SQL or comparable query languages, experience with structured data sets and simple data models).
- Initial practical experience with generative AI / LLMs (e.g. OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic or comparable APIs/tools), ideally in the form of small projects, prototypes or internal use cases.
- Good knowledge of at least one scripting or programming language (e.g. Python or TypeScript/JavaScript) for prototypes, integrations or data pipelines.
- High willingness to familiarise yourself with our field of expertise (hotel construction, hospitality, market structures) and build domain knowledge.
- Structured, independent and solution-oriented approach to work with a focus on functional solutions, not just concepts.
Nice-to-have
- Experience with human-in-the-loop concepts, data annotation or quality assurance of AI outputs.
- Experience with AI-supported chatbots, semantic search or vector databases.
- Experience with knowledge databases, information services or research workflows.
- Basic understanding of data protection and compliance when using AI tools.
Work location & collaboration
- Part-time or full-time position (30–40 hours/week) based in Rotenburg (Wümme) as the central place of work.
- The role is primarily designed to be on-site, as direct communication with our specialist departments is a core part of the job (typically 3–4 days per week in the office).
- After an induction period of approximately 3–6 months, 1–2 days of home office per week are possible. We will discuss the framework conditions transparently during the application process.
- You will work closely with IT, data management and management and have a direct influence on our future data and AI landscape.
What we offer:
A data- and content-driven environment with clear use cases for AI instead of "AI for AI’s sake”.
Flexible working hours in a local workplace and the option of mobile working to an agreed extent.
An international, diverse team with short decision-making processes.
A modern office in the heart of Rotenburg (Wümme) with good train connections and parking facilities.
A very good working atmosphere with direct collaboration and quick visibility of your results.
Membership of Hansefit (fitness network) and options for business/job bike leasing.
We look forward to receiving your application, including your salary expectations and earliest possible start date.
