Besides marketing industrial sensors for laser power metering and for assessing insulation properties of buildings, we also offer a unique core body temperature measurement solution (CALERA®) for wearable devices. The technology empowers customers with a wide range of innovative applications such as improving sports performance, continuous and non-invasive patient monitoring, ovulation tracking, sleep analysis or early detection of diseases.

The company develops, manufactures, and markets all solutions at our headquarters in Rümlang, ZH.

To get additional support for our R&D team, we are looking for an intern with a background in electronics or mechanical engineering to support our hardware development and testing efforts.

Start Date: Immediately (or upon agreement)

• Support hardware development and prototyping of our wearables
• Help with 2D/3D CAD, PCB design, electrical and mechanical integration, materials selection
• Manufacture small prototype series (including PCB population, CNC milling, 3D printing and polymer casting)
• Develop and optimise test setups for the characterisation of materials and devices
• Test the fabricated prototypes and perform validation studies
• Compose reports and case studies.

You are a student looking for an internship in an entrepreneurial atmosphere for the duration of 6 months.

Your CV shows a proven track record of:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or related field
• Prior experience with electronics prototyping including PCB design
• Hands-on mentality, good manual skills and preferably experience in hand soldering and 3D printing
• Familiarity with research methodologies and protocols
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
• A valid Swiss working permit is a must.
