** Position is 0.8 FTE with school breaks off and flexible 240 hours during the summer months. Position will be assigned to 2 elementary school sites within the St. Paul Public School district.

Mental Health Practitioners typically will include graduate students or post-graduates working towards licensure in Marriage and Family Therapist, Social Work or Professional Clinical Counseling. School-Based Mental Health Practitioners provide mental health services for children, youth, and families with access through the school setting. Mental Health Practitioners work under the supervision of a Mental Health Professional, often a State Board Approved Clinical Supervisor.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provides culturally responsive mental health services; completing diagnostic assessment, treatment planning, individual/group/family therapy for clients in-school, in-home or in-clinic

• Consults, collaborates, and networks with school administrators, teachers, support staff as well as county case managers and other providers on behalf of client

• Acts as the primary coordinator for the provision of school-based services

• Engages as a member of appropriate mental health communities

• Timely record keeping of all clinical activities in accordance with Minnesota statue and HIPAA data privacy requirements

• Follows required administrative and reporting processes for outcomes

• Engages in supervision and case consultation

• Be knowledgeable of, and comply with, your licensing board’s statutes, rules, and code of ethics

• Be actively working towards licensure; developing a detailed supervision plan towards licensure

• Be knowledgeable of billable goals

• Emphasize a high level of skill and knowledge about families, individuals and family assessment, family skills, and education services in the school

• Provides case consultation, training on mental health issues, and assistance to school personnel for clients

• Provides ancillary services to the school community; professional development trainings on various mental health topics, consultation, psychoeducation, attending school community events

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in mental health field, LMFT, LPCC, MSW

• Licensed Mental Health Professional

• State Board Approved Clinical Supervisor

• Two or more years of experience working in a school-based or in-home treatment environment

• Demonstrated ability to communicate in a diverse cultural environment with strong interpersonal skills

• Demonstrated ability and skills to use EHR, Microsoft Word and Excel

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills that impact the program

• Able to pass criminal and sex offender background checks, after a conditional job offer
