As a Manufacturing Process Development Engineer at Sonova, you will help shape how our hearing instruments, chargers, and wireless accessories are manufactured — ensuring our products can be produced with high quality, reliability, and efficiency at scale.
You will focus on developing and optimizing manufacturing processes with a strong emphasis on joining and encapsulation technologies. Working closely with R&D, Industrialization, and Production teams across locations, you will bridge product design and industrial execution — from early feasibility studies through to validated production processes. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role where engineering, experimentation, and process thinking come together to enable robust and scalable manufacturing solutions.

- Perform process and failure analysis to improve stability, quality, and yield
- Define and document process-related design rules and promote "Design for Manufacturing” principles
- Support production teams with technical expertise, including NC and CAPA topics
- Degree in Engineering (materials science, process engineering, chemistry, physics, or similar)
- Experience in manufacturing process development or production engineering (incl. joining/surface technologies)
- Hands-on experience with experimental work and process development
- Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills
- Collaborative mindset and experience in cross-functional environments
- Fluent English and good German (min. B1 level, willingness to further improve)
- Curiosity, experimental mindset, and openness to new approaches
Nice to have
- Experience in medical devices or electronic manufacturing
- Knowledge of hearing instrument production processes
- Experience with statistical tools (e.g., Minitab) and SAP
