BTA/Biological Technical Assistant (f/m/d)The university is looking for a BTA/Biological Technical Assistant (m/f/d) to start as soon as possible, fixed-term until May 14, 2026, up to 9b TV-L, 75% The duties include, in particular, maintaining the insect strain collection, producing transgenic insect lines, conducting crossbreeding experiments, performing fine preparations and microscopy, carrying out molecular genetic work (S1), and digitally recording microscopic preparations.
This is a 75% temporary position for at least 6 months, probably longer, as a substitute for sick leave. A separate 25% contract will be provided as soon as possible, bringing the position up to 100% full-time, with the prospect of continued employment for up to three years (until December 31, 2029).
We are particularly looking for an advanced and highly experienced individual who can readily take on management support roles for research by junior members of our international team, and for oversight of advanced fluorescent microscopes in the department. For these tasks, a strong command of English is required.
The prerequisite is training as a BTA or equivalent, with experience in an international research team and good English skills.
