GSC Sustainable Procurement Manager (m/f/d)

Role Purpose

Own and drive the sustainability strategy, programs, and governance within Global Supply Chain (GSC) Procurement, supporting delivery of JTI sustainability targets and compliance with evolving ESG regulations.

Ares of Responsibility

• Program leadership & governance: Lead major sustainable procurement programs end-to-end (feasibility, governance/processes, prioritization, roadmap, KPIs, methodology, reporting), enabling digital solutions where needed and ensuring strong cross-functional and supplier collaboration

• Circularity (Product & packaging): Act as procurement SPOC for circularity; support to define and track circularity KPIs/roadmap; co-create sustainable product/packaging solutions with suppliers and JTI stakeholders; link circularity to broader environmental impacts (e.g., emissions, water)

• Supplier Net Zero: Lead supplier decarbonization program by collecting/verifying/analyzing product-level emissions data (PCF), expanding data coverage, aligning suppliers to standards and science-based targets, supporting reduction roadmaps, and managing performance reporting and continuous improvement; assess decarbonization pathways by sector/country and validate supplier claims against relevant protocols

• Deforestation & conversion-free: Lead DCF workstream to achieve the 2030 no-deforestation/no-conversion commitment via traceability, risk assessment, monitoring/verification, and supplier engagement

• Third-party risk management (TPRM): Build and run a continuous supplier risk management program (ESG/cyber/financial/geopolitical/reputational), including governance, mitigation models, performance tracking, and capability building for category teams

• ESG regulatory integration: Translate key regulations (e.g., PPWR, EUDR, CSRD, CSDDD) into practical procurement governance, processes, tools, and supplier practices; monitor regulatory changes and assess business impacts ultimately ensuring regulatory readiness

• Frameworks, reporting & representation: Support embedding sustainability as business as usual within procurement (e.g. supplier management, sourcing strategy), support the Sustainable Procurement Framework, represent procurement in sustainability committees, and coordinate sustainability data/reporting (e.g., Integrated Report, CDP Supply Chain)

• Tools & providers: Identify/onboard/manage relevant digital platforms/service providers to improve data quality, accuracy, and process efficiency

Candidate Profile:

• University degree with background in procurement, sustainability, supply chain, or R&D
