As a Cross BU Tender Manager, you play a pivotal role in winning strategic multi–Business Unit (XBU) tenders. You combine customer insight, commercial expertise, and strong project leadership to develop high-quality, competitive proposals that leverage DHL’s global capabilities. You guide complex bids from early qualification through contract award and ensure successful handover for implementation.

What’s your role:

1. Tender Leadership & Proposal Delivery

• Drive the end‑to‑end process for XBU tenders, from opportunity qualification and RFQ preparation to proposal development and submission.
• Drive pre‑RFQ preparations with CSI and BU commercial teams, including data analysis, win planning, solution ideas, and leveraging insights from previous tender reviews.
• Lead and coordinate cross‑functional bid teams to deliver customer‑focused, high‑quality proposals that reflect DHL’s full product and service portfolio.
• Develop clear win strategies, and ensure the proposal is aligned with customer needs and strategic objectives.
• Support Customer Directors during negotiations by coordinating clarifications, detailed solution inputs, and accurate documentation from Business Units.

1. Implementation Support & Process Excellence

• Coordinate effective handovers to Business Unit implementation teams and support governance for complex XBU solutions.
• Capture customer debriefs—won or lost—and share insights across BU and CSI stakeholders to strengthen future bid performance.
• Promote best‑practice sharing across Commercial, Tender Management and Project Management communities, and contribute to continuous improvement of tender processes and tools.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of DPDHL Business Unit offerings, innovations and capabilities.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in one or more DHL Business Units, or relevant external experience.
• At least 3 years’ experience in pricing, RFQ, or tender management.
• Commercial acumen, experience with commercial processes, including customer exposure
• Demonstrated project management capability.
• International experience with strong cultural awareness.
• Bachelor’s degree with 7–10 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 5–7 years of relevant experience.
• Strong negotiation, proposal writing, presentation, stakeholder management, and virtual team leadership skills.
• Excellent written and spoken business English.
• Additional language skills on an as-needed basis.
