The Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University Tübingen is looking to fill a
PhD Position in Quantum Information Theory (m/f/d, E13 TV-L, 50%).
The position will be offered for three years and will have as topic the classical emulation of quantum algorithms for the simulation of complex quantum systems.
The position will be based at the Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University Tübingen , Germany, in the group of Prof. Daniel Braun . Depending on a DFG funding decision, an upgrade to 75% of an E13 TV-L position might be possible after the first year.
We are looking for highly motivated candidates with excellent analytical and programming skills, notably in a low-level language such as C and parallelization, and a sound working knowledge in quantum information theory. An ideal candidate would also have knowledge of quantum mechanics of complex systems. Formal hiring requirement is a master degree in physics, computer science, or an equivalent degree.
