Working Student (f/m/d) – Computer Science/Bioinformatics

12–20 hours per week

Your field of responsibility

• Develop, adapt, and maintain scripts in Python and R
• Translate existing workflows into Python scripts
• Perform statistical analyses and prepare data for downstream processing
• Support the automation and optimization of analysis pipelines
• Contribute to computational and data-driven projects with biological relevance
• Help in the creation and maintenance of databases

Our expectations

• Completed Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), preferably in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related field
• Currently enrolled in a Master of Science (M.Sc.) program (or similar)
• Strong interest in analytics, programming, and scientific data processing
• Solid knowledge of Python and R
• Basic understanding of statistical methods and applied data analysis
• Comfortable working with structured data formats (CSV, TSV, tables, measurement data)
• Optional but beneficial: Experience with awk, Linux/Unix command line, relational databases (SQL)
• Biological background or interest in biological topics is an advantage
• Independent, reliable, and organized working style
• Very good English skills, both written and spoken, preferably also German proficiency
