Job Description
Research and teaching at the Chair of Econometrics & Statistics focus on the analysis of multivariate time series data. Emphasis is placed on structural breaks, forecasting, adaptive learning algorithms, and long memory, from both theoretical and applied perspectives. Empirical applications focus on macroeconomic, financial market, and climate data.
Your tasks
- The successful applicant (f/m/d) will conduct theoretical and empirical research in the fields of econometrics, statistics or data science, with the aim of presenting the results at international conferences and publishing them in renowned journals.
- There are no teaching obligations, but the successful applicant (f/m/d) will be given the opportunity to hold tutorials or lectures.
- The position is available starting June 1, 2025. The standard contract is for three years and can be extended to a maximum of six years.
Your profile
- Applicants are expected to have or will soon have a master's degree in econometrics, statistics or data science, or to have specialized in one of these fields in a related field.
- Familiarity with computer programming languages such as R, Matlab, Stata or C is required.
- Excellent English language skills are a given. Knowledge of German is not required.
