About PIDSO
For over 15 years, PIDSO has been developing high-performance communication solutions “Made in Austria” – built for environments where failure is not an option.
Our antenna and RF systems enable reliable data transmission and signal processing in mission-critical applications across aerospace, defense, motorsport, automotive, and Industry 4.0.
We combine research, development, manufacturing, and testing under one roof. Fast, focused, and with uncompromising attention to detail.
Tasks
The Mission
As an Embedded Systems & Verification Engineer, you are the link between high-level software and custom hardware. You will build and maintain the Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) infrastructure that ensures our Radar & communication systems meet the highest reliability and safety standards.
Under guidance of our team, you verify that our Zynq-based platforms are not only functional but fully compliant with EN9100/Aerospace certification requirements.
Key Responsibilities
-
Hardware-Software Integration: Develop and debug low-level drivers (I2C, SPI, UART, AXI, DMA) and Board Support Packages (BSPs) for Zynq-7000 and UltraScale+ architectures.
-
HIL Architecture: Design and build automated Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test benches to simulate real-world sensor data, RF signals, and system loads.
-
Verification & Automation: Build and maintain automated test benches to simulate real-world sensor data and system loads.
-
Compliance & Documentation: Execute formal verification tests and generate the technical artifacts (test reports/traceability) required for EN9100 certification.
-
System Debugging: Use logic analyzers and high-speed scopes to track down bugs at the HW/SW interface.
Requirements
Your Profile
-
Education: BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
-
Embedded Skills: Strong proficiency in C/C++ for bare-metal or RTOS-based driver development and Python for test automation and scripting.
-
Platform Knowledge: Good understanding of FPGA-SoC architectures (specifically Xilinx Zynq-7000, UltraScale+) and peripheral bus systems (AXI, PCIe) or high-speed transceivers.
-
Lab Proficiency: Hands-on experience with standard lab equipment. You are comfortable using a soldering iron for prototype adjustments.
-
Quality Mindset: You are detail-oriented and motivated to learn the rigorous documentation standards of the aerospace industry (EN9100/DO-178C).
-
Tools: Familiarity with Git-based workflows (e.g. Bitbucket) and CI/CD pipelines, and the Atlassian suite (Jira/Confluence).
-
Soft Skills: A proactive communicator who enjoys solving problems at the boundary of hardware and software.
-
Personal Interests: A curiosity for Radar technology, Software Defined Radio (SDR), or RF engineering is a significant plus.
