PhD Student in fundamental muon physics

Your tasks

  • Development detector concept based on pixelized Si detectors for the search of the muon electric dipole moment (muEDM ) at PSI
  • Participation in data taking and analysis of muEDM measurements
  • Preparation of talks and manuscripts for conferences and publications

Your profile

  • Master’s degree in physics with high interest in low energy particle physics
  • Knowledge of numerical methods, i.e. Monte Carlo simulations or python for data analysis
  • Practical experience in experimental techniques is appreciated (e.g. electronics, detectors, DAQ)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficient level of English as working language in spoken and written form is mandatory
  • Knowledge of German or willingness to quickly learn German is a plus
