Vicoland gives the professional services market a new dimension: Virtual Companies – "Vicos". We invented Vicos as a new type of supplier, more efficient than traditional professional services firms (consultancies, system integrators, agencies etc.). On our AI-driven SaaS platform, freelance experts team up to act like real companies, competing successfully for large enterprise projects.

Already, 100+ Vicos with thousands of freelancers work on projects for enterprise clients like BASF, Miele, Siemens or Zeiss and many SME. Forbes and Forrester have named Vicoland as a leading force transforming the market.

Our SAP-certified platform is key to our success, providing the full digital infrastructure for forming and operating Vicos: marketing, finance, legal, organization.

An important focus of our growth lies in SAP services. Many of our Vicos focus on areas ranging from SAP S/4HANA transformations to highly specific SAP application modules. We are therefore looking for an ambitious, commercially driven leader with SAP ecosystem knowledge who wants to combine sales excellence with entrepreneurial impact.

As Business Development Director you join our leadership team with a dual mandate: grow the client business and lead the Vicos serving them.

You build and own client relationships, shape go-to-market strategy, and ensure delivery excellence across your Vicos. You are not handing off after the sale; you stay accountable end-to-end, from first pitch to delivered value.

Tasks

Build & Grow the Business

  • Own and develop a portfolio of enterprise clients – from initial outreach through close to long-term expansion.
  • Shape and execute go-to-market strategies for your accounts, leveraging Vicoland's platform and delivery model.
  • Identify opportunities, drive cross- and upsell, and build a pipeline with a founder's mindset.
  • Represent Vicoland at C-level – you are the face of the company to your clients.

Lead Vicos in their delivery

  • Supervise Vicos in your client group.
  • Coach, challenge, and hold them accountable for delivery quality, client satisfaction, and commercial performance.
  • Step in when needed to protect delivery outcomes and client relationships.
  • Activate new Vico Leads coming from our supply side team and set them up for success.

Shape the Company

  • Contribute to Vicoland's strategy as a member of the leadership team.
  • Bring your market intelligence, client feedback, and competitive insight into the organization.
  • Help define how we scale – processes, tools, talent, culture.

Requirements

  • 6+ years in professional services (consulting, advisory, managed services) – ideally in SAP Services sales or SAP consulting.
  • Proven track record of winning and growing complex enterprise deals.
  • Experience leading teams or practices – you have managed people, not just projects.
  • Convincing track record, strong academic background, fast career progression, proven commercial impact.
  • Entrepreneurial energy – you are drawn to building, not administering.
  • Excellent communication skills: you interact confidently with C-level clients, seasoned professionals and internal teams alike.
  • Fluent in German and English (DACH is our home market, while we expand internationally).
  • Network power: talent and client connections are a plus.
