Job Summary
You will act as the technical lead and key user for Reishauer’s digital applications and services for machines in gear manufacturing (e.g., gear grinding). By using cutting edge digital technologies, you enable and support customers to run Reishauer machines at maximum efficiency while maintaining the highest quality standards. You will bridge customers, Service, Sales, and R&D teams to ensure successful integration, measurable customer value, and continuous improvement of our digital portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Application Support & Enablement
- Lead customer-facing technical application support for digital applications and services (e.g., process diagnostics and optimization, component monitoring, integration of new processes)
- Conduct machine acceptance tests at Reishauer and at customer sites, support customer trials and provide on-site or remote technical support
- Deliver training sessions and workshops to enable customers t0 use digital tools effectively
Customer Relationship & Technical Sales
- Analyze customer workflows and system behavior to provide proactive technical consulting and quantify the customer value / business impact of digital products
- Capture new insights and systematically communicate feedback to our product development teams
- Support Sales teams with technical expertise and use-case / value-driven presentations of digital services
Digital Product Integration & Optimizatio
- Act as a power user of digital applications by testing new releases and contributing to continuous product improvement
- Collaborate internally to refine use cases and translate customer needs into clear product requirements
- Develop scalable tools, templates and documentation to standardize digital service
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Enable internal stakeholders (Engineering, Service, R&D) to effectively use digital platforms
- Provide 2nd-level application support and coaching to local Digital Application Engineers across Reishauer subsidiaries
Required Qualifications
Mandatory
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics or related field
- 2–4 years of experience in a technical engineering role (motivated graduates welcome; internships / thesis projects considered)
- Strong analytical skills and structured problem-solving mindset
- Hands-on experience with production machinery, automation and/or monitoring technologies
- Solid understanding of manufacturing workflows and data-driven decision-making
- Fluent in English and German (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus
- Willingness to travel internationally to customers sites (approx. 10-20%)
Preffered
- Experience with gear grinding or metal-cutting machinery
- Familiarity with digital tools such as MES, SCADA, IloT platforms, condition monitoring and/or process analytics
- Experience working in cross-cultural and international environments
