At Swarovski, where innovation meets inspiration, our people desire to explore, experience and create. As a Category Manager CAPEX (f/m/d), you will play a key role in shaping our future production landscape by leading strategic investments in new machinery and equipment. Be part of a truly iconic global brand, learn and grow with us. We’re bold and inventive, revealing astonishing things like no one else can. A world of wonder awaits you.
About the job
As Category Manager CAPEX, your primary focus will be the strategic sourcing and purchasing of new production machinery and equipment to optimize and modernize our manufacturing network. Working closely with our Supply Chain team, Engineering, T&I, and other key stakeholders, you will drive high impact CAPEX projects from concept to contract signature.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop, maintain, and execute strategic category plans for CAPEX in alignment with global procurement policies and long-term production network requirements.
- Lead end to end sourcing processes for machinery, equipment, and technical services — from market analysis and supplier identification to tendering, evaluation, and contract negotiation.
- Oversee multiple sourcing projects, ensuring measurable savings and effective prioritization.
- Act as the primary interface between Engineering, Operations, Finance, and suppliers to ensure technical specifications, commercial conditions, and project objectives are fully aligned.
- Drive supplier selection and qualification processes, ensuring compliance with internal standards, legal requirements, and risk management frameworks.
- Promote continuous improvement in procurement processes, including standardization, digitalization, and best practice sharing across the organization.
- Implement and monitor sustainability and ESG requirements within the CAPEX supply base, ensuring responsible sourcing and proactive risk mitigation.
About you
We are looking for a unique and amazing talent, who brings along the following:
- University degree in Engineering or strong technical background and a minimum of 7 years of procurement experience, including at least 2 years in CAPEX, machinery purchasing, or engineering related sourcing.
- Strong sourcing and negotiation capabilities, ideally with exposure to machinery suppliers, automation providers, or industrial equipment manufacturers.
- Fluency in German and English is required.
- Deep procurement expertise, including purchasing guidelines, contract law, technical specifications, and risk management.
- Advanced proficiency in SAP/ARIBA, S2C processes, and MS Office.
- Excellent communicator, able to influence and build trust with senior management and cross-functional teams.
- Proactive, hands-on, and resilient, with a continuous improvement and can-do mindset.
- Demonstrates strong teamwork and consistently delivers impactful outcomes in both cross-functional and hierarchical settings.
