As a Systems Engineer for Avionic or Defence applications, you develop system architectures, manage requirements, verify complex subsystems and collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams. Description
- Develop and take ownership of the system design for complex avionics or defence systems and their subsystems
- Apply systems engineering methodologies across the full lifecycle (requirements, architecture, V&V)
- Analyse, derive, manage and trace system and mission requirements, including verification evidence
- Create and maintain system architectures and technical specifications (document‑based or MBSE)
- Plan, develop and execute verification and test concepts
- Perform and assess laboratory and system testing (e.g. avionics, radar, RF, EW systems)
- Evaluate system performance and support technical decision‑making
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, customers and subcontractors in an international environment
- Contribute to technical documentation and support the full systems and software engineering lifecycle
Profile
- Master's/Diploma degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Telecommunications or a comparable field
- Several years of professional experience (4+ years) in systems engineering, ideally in avionics or defence
- Strong background in requirements management and/or system modelling
- Solid understanding of systems engineering methods, processes and standards
- Experience in one or more of the following areas is an advantage:
- Avionics systems
- Radar or RF systems
- Electronic Warfare (EW), self‑protection or support systems
- Experience with engineering and requirements tools such as:
- DOORS / DOORS NG
- MBSE tools (Cameo Systems Modeler, Enterprise Architect)
- Jira, Confluence
- Familiarity with test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum/network analyzers, RF signal generators)
- Experience with automated testing, version control (Git); Python skills are a plus
- Analytical mindset, structured working style and enthusiasm for complex technical systems
- Excellent English skills; German is a plus
