Our Center for Digital Safety & Security located in Vienna invites applications for an internship. Our experts from the Center for Digital Safety & Security are developing state-of-the-art information and communication technologies to ensure that our systems are highly secure and reliable in the context of comprehensive digitalisation and global networking – Hereby we focus on a variety of key technologies like Distributed IT Systems, Internet of Things, IoT, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain Technologies, Quantum & Photonic Technologies, Wireless Systems (6G) and Digital solutions for crisis & disaster management.

The research field Computer Vision within our Competence Unit " Data Science & Artificial Intelligence ” is leading in applied research of highly innovative aspects for efficient computer vision applications as well model design.

Internship "Development of a Web-Based Scenario Editor for Adaptable Mixed Reality Trainings”

CENTER FOR DIGITAL SAFETY & SECURITY

  • Under the guidance of our interdisciplinary team, you will work on a web-based scenario editor for outdoor Mixed Reality Trainings.
  • You will implement a web-based framework to place virtual objects on a map, define animations and behaviors.
  • You will work on a timeline to simulate how virtual elements will behave within the real-world using Django, CesiumJS and WebGL.
  • You support us in our international project and get exciting insights into our technological environment.
  • You will have not only the opportunity to discuss your work experiences and results with experienced scientific peers, but also to connect with other bachelor’s, master’s or PhD students.

Your qualifications as an Ingenious Partner:

  • You already have your bachelor’s degree and are enrolled at an Austrian university in a Master’s programme in Informatics, Software Engineering, Game Engineering, Computer Graphics, or a related field
  • Good experience with web-servers.
  • You have very good programming skills in Python and JavaScript and knowledge about data bases.
  • Knowledge in computer graphics (animations, 3D objects)
  • Interest to work in a multidisciplinary team and collaborate on different topics.
  • Good verbal and written English skills (team language is English), German skills would be a plus.

What to expect:

  • Duration of the internship: 6-12 months
  • Start date: ideally November 2025 – However there is some flexibility concerning the start-date
  • A remuneration of EUR 1.415,-- gross per month for 38.5 hours per week. In addition to our company benefits, we offer flexible working conditions and work experience in a highly innovative environment.
