The Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW), Austria’s leading non-university research and science institution, is offering a Position as
PhD (Praedoc) Student Position (f/m/x)
(part-time/30 hours per week) for a duration of three years
Your Tasks
- Develop software to do data analysis using data collected by the ALICE experiment
- Perform in-person data-taking shifts in Geneva, Switzerland, with the ALICE Collaboration
- Take part in meetings of the ALICE Collaboration remotely and in-person
- Perform support work for the operation of the ALICE detector at CERN
Your Profile
- Bachelor degree in physics
- Master degree or equivalent
- Expertise in Software development, preferably with C++ and/or python
- Knowledge of Monte Carlo simulations is desirable
- Knowledge of Machine Learning Techniques is desirable
