The Marietta Blau Institute of Particle Physics (MBI, formerly HEPHY) is Austria’s leading non-university research institute for particle physics. It conducts a broad experimental program, participating in both accelerator- and non-accelerator-based experiments. The institute plays major roles in CMS at CERN, the Belle II experiment at KEK, and several dark-matter search experiments. Theory and machine-learning groups complement and complete the institute’s research profile.
The Theory Group at the Marietta Blau Institute of Particle Physics invites applications for a
PostDoc (f/m/x) in Dark Matter Theory and Physics beyond the Standard Model
(full-time, 40 hours per week)
Your Tasks
The position is within the research group of Josef Pradler.
The successful candidate will work individually as well as collaboratively on topics in theoretical particle and astroparticle physics, with a particular focus on dark matter phenomenology, including laboratory detection, early-Universe cosmology, and astrophysical aspects, among other areas.
Requirements
We invite applications in all areas of theoretical particle physics, particularly from candidates with a strong background in astroparticle theory and particle phenomenology.
