The Austrian Centre for Digital Humanities (ACDH), a research department of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW), Austria’s leading non-university research institution, is seeking a 

Research Data Manager (f/m/x)

(20-40h per week)

You will join an internationally networked team, pursuing research at the intersection between information and communication technology and humanities studies. You will contribute to the team’s core task of curating, managing, preserving and publishing research data, both on the conceptual and the practical level - by curating resources submitted for long-term preservation in the institute’s trusted and certified repository ARCHE, by providing support prior to submission, and by actively and collaboratively shaping workflows and best practices. This area of work is embedded within infrastructural initiatives on national and European level, such as CLARIAH-AT, CLARIN, DARIAH and EOSC. Collaboration and coordination with various national and international activities in accordance with Open Science and FAIR principles are an integral part of the position. 

• curation of data and metadata for ARCHE in line with its policies and the deposition process 
• ensuring dissemination of research outputs in alignment with international developments in the field of Open Science and FAIR principles 
• involvement in the conception and implementation of workflows and practices for data management at the ACDH and the Austrian Academy of Sciences 
• collaboration and coordination with various bodies in national and international infrastructural initiatives 

• experience with sustainable management of research data  
• acquaintance with digital preservation principles and practices 
• hands-on knowledge of metadata schemata (e.g. LIDO, EDM) and metadata aggregation workflows 
• knowledge of linked (open) data and related best practices  
• a degree in a humanities subject, library and information studies, or a related discipline 
• excellent written and oral communication skills in both German and English  
• team player with independent working style and passion for Open Science 
• acquaintance with programmatic data processing (e.g. through scripting languages like Python) is advantageous

• Initial annual gross salary is EUR 51.930,76 (for full-time employment) in accordance with the collective agreement for employees of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. Based on your experience and academic degree a higher salary is negotiable. 
• Employment will start at the earliest in April 2026 and run initially for 12 months with the option of conversion to a permanent position.
