Join us in shaping the future of aquatic ecotoxicology! At IES, we’re looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Study Director & Team Leader to strengthen our dynamic Ecotoxicology team. Starting early 2026, you’ll lead cutting-edge projects and guide a talented team at our Witterswil site in Switzerland. This is a full-time opportunity to make a real impact in environmental science and innovation

Job Description

• You are responsible for the management of the biological part of our ecotoxicology department including organisational and people responsibility for a team of about 25 coworkers (scientists and lab technicians)
• You are responsible for study direction for chronic and acute aquatic ecotoxicology studies on fish, amphibians, daphnia, algae and other aquatic organisms according to OECD guideline
• You will evaluate study results and report the study data
• You will communicate with internal and external stakeholders
• You will cooperate with our internal sales team for preparation of quotations including consulting of clients
• You will participate in scientific workshops and congresses

Qualifications

• Have successfully completed a scientific degree in biology or a related discipline
• You have at least 5 to 10 years’ experience in aquatic ecotoxicology working under GLP, including experience with fish endocrine disruptor testing
• You have strong organizational skills, you are flexible in work assignment and work schedule
• You have sound experience in people leadership
• You are willing and able to coach, train and develop people
• You are fluent in spoken and written English and German.
• Working experience in a CRO of advantage
