Application Support & Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) Intermediate Analyst

We are seeking a highly motivated professional to join our team, blending expertise in application support with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles. This role requires an individual who can independently tackle complex problems, apply analytical thinking, and influence outcomes across various teams, directly impacting core business activities.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical and business support for critical Citi applications, ensuring high availability and reliability.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex application issues, offering immediate solutions and driving long-term remediation strategies in collaboration with technology partners.

• Lead participation in the full application lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, and crucial post-release checkouts for both application updates and infrastructure changes.

• Act as a primary liaison between application users and internal technology groups, facilitating clear communication and effective problem resolution.

• Actively contribute to disaster recovery planning and testing and develop comprehensive technical support documentation.

• Proactively analyze applications to identify, assess, and mitigate risks, vulnerabilities, and security concerns.

• Collaborate closely with Development teams to prioritize bug fixes and define requirements for robust support tooling.

• Drive and take ownership of initiatives focused on enhancing application stability, efficiency, and overall effectiveness.

• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to senior stakeholders and junior team members.

• Demonstrate sound judgment in assessing and managing risks, ensuring strict compliance with applicable laws, rules, policies, and ethical standards.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in application support, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or a closely related technical discipline.

• Mandatory strong background in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) , demonstrating a commitment to the robust and reliable operation of critical systems.

• Solid understanding of application support procedures, concepts, and broader technical infrastructure areas.

• Proven experience in or a strong interest in driving process improvement and standardization initiatives.

• Basic business understanding of financial markets and products.

• Proficiency in problem management tools, as well as issue tracking and reporting systems.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex situations using diverse information sources.

• Excellent communication, diplomacy, and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders and exchanging complex information effectively.

• Ability to independently plan, organize, and manage workload, demonstrating sound judgment and autonomy.

• A strong team player committed to effectively sharing knowledge and collaborating with support and development teams.

Education:

• Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant technical field.
