Tasks
Role Purpose
The Business Development Specialist will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and registering suppliers and subcontractors from construction companies across the German-speaking region of Switzerland.
This role is key in building a strong supplier ecosystem by leveraging industry relationships, procurement expertise, and a deep understanding of construction sourcing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Identification & Registration
- Identify potential suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers within the Swiss construction market
- Drive end-to-end supplier onboarding and registration processes
- Ensure supplier documentation and compliance requirements are met
Market Development & Relationship Building
- Build and maintain strong relationships with procurement teams, project managers, and supplier decision-makers
- Develop a robust supplier pipeline across key construction categories (civil, MEP, materials, equipment, etc.)
- Represent the company in industry events, supplier meetings, and networking forums
Requirements
Must-Have Requirement
✅ Previous working experience in the Procurement Department of a Construction Company
(Candidates without procurement exposure in construction will not be considered.)
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in supplier onboarding, procurement, sourcing, or vendor management within construction
- Strong understanding of construction supply chain, contractor ecosystems, and purchasing processes
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to build trust with suppliers and procurement stakeholders
- Fluency in German is highly preferred; English proficiency required
- Strong organizational skills with attention to compliance and documentation
