Role Purpose

The Business Development Specialist will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and registering suppliers and subcontractors from construction companies across the German-speaking region of Switzerland.

This role is key in building a strong supplier ecosystem by leveraging industry relationships, procurement expertise, and a deep understanding of construction sourcing processes.

Key Responsibilities

Supplier Identification & Registration

• Identify potential suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers within the Swiss construction market
• Drive end-to-end supplier onboarding and registration processes
• Ensure supplier documentation and compliance requirements are met

Market Development & Relationship Building

• Build and maintain strong relationships with procurement teams, project managers, and supplier decision-makers
• Develop a robust supplier pipeline across key construction categories (civil, MEP, materials, equipment, etc.)
• Represent the company in industry events, supplier meetings, and networking forums

Requirements

Must-Have Requirement

✅ Previous working experience in the Procurement Department of a Construction Company

(Candidates without procurement exposure in construction will not be considered.)

Qualifications & Skills

• Proven experience in supplier onboarding, procurement, sourcing, or vendor management within construction
• Strong understanding of construction supply chain, contractor ecosystems, and purchasing processes
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to build trust with suppliers and procurement stakeholders
• Fluency in German is highly preferred; English proficiency required
• Strong organizational skills with attention to compliance and documentation
