As a key member of the GPS Engagement & Communications team, the Internal Communications Specialist will strengthen internal dialogue and foster greater connectivity across Global Private Services (GPS) and the wider Bank Julius Baer organisation. This role plays a critical part in shaping transparent, purposeful, and timely communication that supports business priorities, drives employee engagement, and reinforces organisational culture.
The successful candidate will develop and deliver strategic internal communications that resonate with diverse regional and functional audiences within GPS.
While the primary focus is internal messaging, there may be opportunities to contribute to select external visibility efforts—such as speaker nominations or award submissions—in coordination with the central Internal Communications Team.
This is not a market or investment commentary role. Instead, it calls for a skilled communicator who thrives in a collaborative environment, understands organisational dynamics, and uses storytelling to build connection and clarity.
YOUR CHALLENGE

Partner with GPS leadership, Business Management, and Strategy teams to understand evolving business needs and craft aligned communication plans
Design and execute multi-channel campaigns to support key initiatives, transformations, and organisational updates
Tailor messaging for varied audiences across geographies and functions, ensuring relevance, clarity, and consistency
Represent GPS perspectives in enterprise-wide communications in partnership with the central Internal Communications Team
2. Provide Executive-Level Communication Support
Act as a trusted communication partner to the GPS Co-Heads and senior stakeholders, including drafting speeches, presentations, talking points, and leadership updates
Advise on tone, style, and channel selection to maximise reach and impact
Contribute to managing the Co-Heads’ professional presence on platforms such as LinkedIn, including content ideation and editorial oversight (in line with brand and compliance guidelines)
3. Strengthen Stakeholder Engagement Across the Organisation
Serve as a bridge between GPS and other divisions within Bank Julius Baer, promoting mutual understanding and integration
Facilitate two-way communication through feedback mechanisms, pulse checks, and active listening to reflect employee sentiment in messaging strategies
Ensure GPS voices are represented in cross-functional forums, committees, and enterprise initiatives
4. Support Internal Events and Dialogue Initiatives (as needed)
Assist in the planning and execution of town halls, leadership sessions, and employee engagement events
Step in as a facilitator or moderator when required, contributing to meaningful conversations and inclusive participation
5. Apply Audience Insights and Continuous Improvement
Use segmentation, behavioural insights, and change communication best practices to increase message effectiveness
Monitor engagement metrics and qualitative feedback to refine approaches and demonstrate impact
Stay informed about internal communication trends, tools, and employee experience innovations
YOUR PROFILE
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Organisational Psychology, or a related discipline ( a postgraduate qualification is an advantage)
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in internal, corporate, or organisational communications, ideally within Banking, financial services or consulting
Proven track record in developing and executing internal communication strategies in complex, matrixed organisations
Demonstrable experience in executive communications, including ghostwriting for senior leaders and preparing high-stakes materials
