IT Engineer IBM Power Systems and AIX

Aufgaben

Responsible for the operation and further development of the core infrastructure using IBM Power Systems and AIX operating systems / Design and implementation of AIX-based systems, including LPARs, Virtual I/O (VIO), Network Installation Management (NIM), and Hardware Management Console (HMC/IVM) / Responsible for the development, operation, and support of Oracle databases, as well as assistance with performance optimizations / Further development or optimization of Linux and UNIX environments, storage (SAN, NFS, GPFS), and hardware infrastructure / Automation of daily tasks and improvement of operational efficiency using Ansible / Providing second-level support, ensuring security compliance, and managing backups and change procedures.

Qualifikation

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering / PMI or ITIL certification / In-depth knowledge of operating AIX systems and virtualization on IBM Power Systems / Expertise in integrating legacy Power Systems (AIX 7.x) with modern automation / Experience with storage and virtualization, as well as knowledge of GPFS (Spectrum Scale) and VIOS / Programming with Python and Scale / Interested in project management / Dynamic, resilient, and proactive personality with a team-oriented attitude and strong communication skills / Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities / Interested in a structured, independent work style / English and German.
