The Global Products and Solutions division at Julius Baer is seeking a skilled and experienced System Architect to join our team, with a particular emphasis on technology strategy. As a member of the Architecture Centre of Excellence (CoE), you will serve as the overarching Technology Architect for GPS ART and as a System Architect for one of our Agile Tribe Sets, shaping the future functional infrastructure of the GPS division. You will collaborate closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Agile Squads to drive the delivery of our roadmap, enabling the development of further digital services and offerings for our clients.This senior architect role offers the opportunity to work closely with business owners, product managers, and IT stakeholders to unlock the full potential of GPS and develop innovative, efficient solutions that can be presented to C-level executives. The position requires a deep understanding of technology and hands-on experience with global technology trends, particularly in the areas of real-time market data distribution, real-time data analytics, and Azure Cloud setup and migration.
YOUR CHALLENGE
Collaborate with GPS leadership and key stakeholders to define target and transition architectures, ensuring alignment with the overall enterprise architecture vision and objectives
Develop and define the GPS Technology Strategy based on enterprise strategy, evaluating new technologies, leading the Technology Architecture Board, and defining technology migration roadmaps
Conduct hands-on technology assessments, execute proof-of-concept projects, and act as a coach for Agile teams during migration
Own the solution blueprint and define transition roadmaps with concrete inputs for GPS ART to achieve the target application landscape
Support teams with adherence to Enterprise Architecture Governance, ensuring compliance with architectural standards, policies, and guidelines
Stay up-to-date with trends and drivers in the financial industry, markets, and technology, proposing innovative and sound solutions to business partners and supporting them on architecture-related topics
Facilitate digital transformation and the rollout of global solutions, striking a balance between scalability, operability, flexibility, and geographical adoption
YOUR PROFILE
Passionate about technology with a "can-do" attitude and entrepreneurial spirit, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment of continuous change
Proven multi-year experience as a System or Software Architect within the financial industry or consulting with a banking focus
A successful track record of delivering technology projects, including methodological assessments, strategy definitions, and roadmap elaborations
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in at least two functional areas: market data distribution, real-time data analytics, or migration/redesign of software from desktop-based to web-based cloud-native
Multiple years of experience as a web software developer (Java or .NET)
Familiarity with various integration technologies (e.g., streaming, messaging, web services)
Curiosity and knowledge of current technologies, technology trends, and financial market developments
Strong personal drive, organizational skills, analytical mindset, and problem-solving abilities
Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks, methodologies, and tools; certification in business architecture (e.g., TOGAF, BIZBOK) is highly desirable
Experience working in an Agile environment is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present ideas to technical and business stakeholders at the company, domain, and team levels
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (Master's degree preferred)
Business fluency in written and spoken English; spoken German is beneficial
