On behalf of our client, a smaller, multinational industry group (focus on energy) with a location in Zug, Switzerland, we are seeking, starting immediately or by arrangement, a Legal Counsel 70-100%. The draft job description reads as follows (with minor adjustments from us):

Responsibilities:

• Manage and respond to day-to-day legal issues of the group
• Provide legal advice and support on financial, commercial and corporate legal issues, e.g., contract law, company law, labour law, data protection law and legal issues in finance (finance agreements) in particular, in relation to Swiss, English and German law
• Provide legal advice and support on any other legal matters according to project’s need, e.g., procurement, sanctions, permits etc. taking into account cross-border legal aspects
• Support on corporate housekeeping
• Provide legal support/advice on drafting internal guidelines and policies
• Liaise and manage external counsels and consultants
• Liaise and manage internal stakeholders (e.g., Procurement, Finance, Operations, Permits etc.) as well as shareholder, subsidiary and financial investors
• Contribute to Legal Team (e.g., precedents, templates, mentoring, legal updates etc.)

Requirements:

• Swiss, German, UK or similar law degree (MLaw or equivalent), preferably complemented with a bar exam, LL.M. and/or similar degree
• Between 2 – 5 years’ experience in an international company or international law firm; work experience in the energy or similar industry sector would be a plus
• Fluent English and German; other languages like Russian would be a plus
• Ability to work in an international project company/environment
• Interest in deepening legal knowledge and experience at a multinational group
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, excellent interface capabilities
• Ability to deal with different cultures and authorities
• Ability to work under pressure and to deal with unexpected situations
• Flexible work attitude
• Willingness to travel
