We are searching for the best talent for Senior Director Advanced Therapies Procurement role in Titusville NJ; Beerse, Belgium or Zug, Switzerland.

Purpose: Lead Advanced Therapies Procurement, overseeing a team of ~12 and supporting approximately $2B in Net Trade Sales, with significant growth expected over the next two years. This role is a member of the Advanced Therapies Supply Chain Leadership Team and acts as the Chief Procurement Officer for Advanced Therapies, representing Procurement across all spend and category areas.
Reporting to the Vice President, Procurement Supply Chain, Innovative Medicine, the Senior Director is accountable for global external manufacturing partnerships and critical direct materials, enabling next-generation cell therapy and automated manufacturing solutions.
The position owns end-to-end Procurement strategy for existing and next-generation technology solutions, partnering with suppliers that bring differentiated, first-of-the-kind capabilities to the Johnson & Johnson Advanced Therapies platform. The category and spend are highly complex, requiring close collaboration across Supply Chain, R&D, and other key stakeholders, as well as a supplier-development mindset to help early-stage, high-growth partners scale.
This highly experienced leader will define and execute Procurement strategy, driving the organization to deliver financial, quality, scalability, service, and compliance outcomes.
You will be responsible for:
• Leading strategic sourcing and category strategy, translating long-term business needs into aligned sourcing plans and partnerships.
• Leveraging deep supply-market insight to deliver competitive outcomes supporting both top- and bottom-line performance of the Advanced Therapies business.
• Leading Procurement across multiple categories, representing the function at the Advanced Therapies Supply Chain leadership level and overseeing supplier strategy, sourcing, and contracting in a highly innovative environment.
• Driving price and cost initiatives, leading complex sourcing decisions and negotiations with strategic suppliers.
• Engaging directly with supplier CEOs and senior executives to ensure delivery against quality, reliability, innovation, and cost objectives.
• Partnering closely with R&D and Clinical leadership across the development lifecycle to align supplier strategy and enable effective supplier selection, commercial terms, and transition from clinical development to commercialization.
• Accountable for delivering financial, service, reliability, quality, innovation, and growth outcomes.
• Leading Top-to-Top engagements with strategic suppliers, including performance management and value-creation reviews.
• Defining and executing Procurement goals and category strategies grounded in deep subject-matter expertise and market insight.
• Proactively escalating and addressing issues with potential impact to the Global Procurement organization.
• Building strong internal relationships across Johnson & Johnson to enable effective dialogue, alignment, and solution development.
• Building strong talent pipeline for key roles and continuously upskill the AT Procurement Team on procurement functional skills and competencies including Digital/AI.
Qualifications / Requirements:
• Professional certifications (e.g., PSM, CSCP, CPIM, PM) are preferred.
• Strong proficiency in core procurement capabilities (supplier management and performance, supplier market analysis, category management, procurement excellence).
• High credibility with internal partners and the supplier community; strong networking and relationship-building skills; ability to influence peers and senior leaders across the organization.
• Consistent track record of attracting and developing talent; demonstrated senior-level management overseeing teams across geographic regions.
• Extensive proven track record in successfully leading large cross-functional teams and influencing key stakeholders.
• Strategic, creative thinker who can leverage an entrepreneurial environment to maximize output.
