Über uns
Dürfen wir uns vorstellen?
Inspired by his visit to Medjugorje in 1986, American pilgrim Terry Colafrancesco, who had established Caritas of Birmingham that same year, continues to bring the messages of the Blessed Virgin Mary to the faith-based community. Caritas of Birmingham is dedicated to spreading the word about the spiritual encounters that take place at Medjugorje and to share this inspiring experience with others.
The first apparition of Our Lady of Medjugorje was seen in 1981, when she appeared before six young people in the former Yugoslavia. Since then, Our Lady has appeared before others every day, touching the lives of so many, including Mr. Colafrancesco and visionary Marija Lunetti, who was given a message by Our Lady to gather as many people as possible and deliver them back to God.
Following his first pilgrimage, Mr. Colafrancesco began circulating the Caritas of Birmingham newsletter free of charge as a means to deliver Our Lady’s messages to a faithful community comprised of thousands of members. In order to continue with this practice and to keep costs down, Mr. Colafrancesco devised a way for Caritas members to design, produce, print, and distribute the newsletter, as well as other materials such as CDs and audio cassettes, on their own. With the added benefit of free help from its members, Caritas of Birmingham is able to continue spreading Our Lady’s word in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
Today, Caritas of Birmingham has grown to include the Mission House in Medjugorje, its own Medjugorje website, and radio programming.
