The founder of premier Los Angeles public relations agency Fifteen Minutes, Howard Bragman has gained a national reputation as an expert in crisis management and as an advocate for the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) and Jewish communities. His firm represents top celebrities, including actors, musicians, authors, and athletes; government officials; film production companies and other corporations; and senior-level business executives. In addition to crisis counseling and LGBT support, Fifteen Minutes handles such services as A-list event planning and consultation, film promotion, online identity management, and branding.
Mr. Bragman earned a B.A. in Journalism and Psychology at the University of Michigan. He honed his communications skills as a Vice President of Burson-Marsteller in Chicago and Los Angeles. Prior to opening Fifteen Minutes, Mr. Bragman co-founded Bragman Nyman Cafarelli Public Relations and Marketing, building it into one of the country’s top agencies over the course of 12 years. Interpublic Group of Companies acquired the firm in 2001, four years before Fifteen Minutes opened. The agency’s founder taught public relations courses at the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism at the University of Southern California for six years, has acted as a guest speaker, and appeared on numerous national television broadcasts on all the major networks and cable news outlets. He has provided media training to hundreds of people as well.
The Fifteen Minutes executive serves as a news consultant for ABC on Good Morning America, as a PR expert on Entertainment Tonight, as the “spin doctor” on HLN's Showbiz Tonight, as a frequent guest on Joy Behar’s shows, and wrote the 2008 best-seller, Where’s My Fifteen Minutes? To promote positive film and television portrayals of Jews, Mr. Bragman established the Jewish Image Awards. He has garnered a number of his own awards from groups supporting civil rights, including AIDS Project Los Angeles, the LIFE AIDS Lobby, GLAAD (the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation), and Congregation Kol Ami in West Hollywood.
