Walnut Creek Community Church has provided fellowship and charity to individuals in the Des Moines area for nearly 30 years. The Church holds worship services at four locations and provides opportunities for young people to play soccer and attend summer camp. In addition, each spring, members of Walnut Creek travel abroad to perform mission work. In 2012, the group plans to visit the Dominican Republic.
Walnut Creek Community Church conducts services on Saturdays and Sundays in Windsor Heights, Johnston, Downtown, and West Des Moines. The church encourages people to come as they are and not worry about what they're wearing. Parents can enjoy services while their children attend Sunday School. Meanwhile, the nursery staff cares for youngsters under age three.
The typical service features contemporary Christian music. Those who seek more traditional hymns may wish to attend the early Sunday service at the Windsor Heights facility. Church leaders strive to keep services interesting with a variety of music to inspire.
Walnut Creek operates under several basic tenets, including the Great Commandment and the Great Commission. The church asks individuals to recognize they are sinners, and that Jesus died for people’s sins. In addition, the leadership reminds members that God saves those who place their faith in Him.
Today, more than 1,300 individuals attend services. Walnut Creek Community Church provides transportation to people in need. To obtain a ride, individuals may call the organization at (515) 279-8312.
