Working as a Director within the Private Equity team my focus is upon providing performance improvement and transaction support activity to the private equity and banking communities. This extends across the full deal cycle – from operational due diligence upon prospective investee companies through to disposal value maximisation

Engaged on a consultancy services basis my activity included: (1) Homeserve Plc - Sales and Customer Service Performance Improvement to a £500MM Insurance Co. (2) Due diligence / valuation activity - conducted on behalf of a major US engineering services business for a proposed $40M acquisition servicing the Middle East energy sector (3) Pre-acquisition advisory - to an $80B energy, shipping and trading conglomerate (4) New ventures / acquisition advisory to a Middle East petroleum company

Projects included; (1)International airline – development of an operational turnaround plan for the $250+m fundraising to recover an international state airline. (2) Hg Capital - Private equity due diligence for the proposed £100m acquisition of a payroll services outsourcing provider (3) DHL Denmark - SAP implementation recovery - Led a finance process team in the recovery of a flawed SAP implementation shared services project within a £270m subsidiary of DHL.

Hyder Consulting is an international 3,000+ strong, business and technical advisory firm working across a range of capital-intensive industries including transportation, property, water, defence and telecoms. Leading Hyder’s business advisory activities my focus was within property, utilities and telecommunications involving both public and private sectors

CMB assisted large corporates aiming to develop venturing activity and SME’s requiring a springboard for their products. Taking an equity role within CMB, my role extended from venture development, debt/equity finance provision through to the facilitation of strategic partnerships between the corporate and entrepreneurial communities.

Prior to its demise, Enron Corp a rapidly growing $31Billion energy related conglomerate Reported to the Senior V.P of Mergers & Acquisitions / M.D. North America. Managing a corporate development team, I provided strategic and transactional assistance in development of North American and European acquisition opportunities. A key focus was the development of the value propositions and acquisition processes for the execution of large-scale outsourcing contracts within the energy sector e.g. BP Amoco.

Severn Trent is a FTSE 100 international utility related services company with market capitalisation of c. £4 Billion, employing some 14,000 staff predominately in the USA, UK and Western Europe. Reporting to the C.E.O., managed a corporate development team focusing upon the growth and performance improvement of the Group. Working as part of the senior management team we transformed the business into a portfolio of predominately, non-regulated, utility related, service companies.
