The aim of my research at the Institute of Molecular Cardiology, uniklinkum Düsseldorf was to identify a cocktail of small molecules capable of establishing cardiac features in rat epicardium derived cells (EPDC) . The small molecules disrupt the EPDC-specific cell program, by either activating or inhibiting the Wnt-pathway, adenylyl-cyclase, retinoic acid receptor, TGFß, Notch, PDGF, HDAC and explore the role of stroma cells, particularly EPDCs, in modulating heart inflammation and fibrosis.

From 2011-2016, I worked at the DKFZ (German cancer research center) in the Division for Functional Genome Analysis, where I completed my PhD thesis work entitled “Proteomic profiling of the secretory mediators in pancreatic adenocarcinoma under various stimuli triggered by the tumor microenvironment”.
