- Studying hybrid materials based on nanocellulose and metal oxide nanoparticles for energy and health applications

My responsibilities included the development of fire-retardant and thermally insulating nanocellulose foams, which we published in Nature Nanotechnology (doi:10.1038/nnano.2014.248). Other aspects of my work on nanocellulose covered their hybridization with ionic liquids and photonic properties of liquid crystalline nanocellulose. I also co-supervised two Master students.
