After my postdoctoral work, my colleagues and I founded Nanokomp Advanced Materials Co., in Istanbul, where I worked as a project manager and lately as an R&D manager and then became a co-owner. Nanokomp is a research and development company that conducts research on the production of thermoset-based prepreg materials, the development of nano-reinforced prepreg materials and the production of oxide-based nanoparticles.

I was responsible for the establishment of materials science labs and the preparation of application documents for the founding of an innovation center at TDU. I was also working on the preparation of the study plans in close contact with our German partner universities. I dealt lately with the Industry 4.0 concept and its application to engineering education. Between April 2017 and May 2018, I was also the head of the department and responsible for all the administrative duties in the department.

Through my experience in Cambridge, I have learned how to prepare and manage research projects in different fields as well as how to manage and supervise different people in a project. I have worked with many colleagues from different countries in a team. As a Post-Doc I worked at an ERC (European Research Council) project and supervised two PhD students. My research topics were synthesis of carbon nanotubes by CDV method, decomposition behaviour of Carbon precursors and synthesis of BN nanostructures.

My research topics included production and characterization of W-based compounds, composites and intermetallics via mechanical alloying and other powder metallurgical techniques. I also assisted my professor at different lectures like polymeric materials, structure and crystallography and advanced characterization techniques.

I worked as a full time researcher at the University of Cambridge and my research topics were on synthesis of carbon nanotubes by CDV method, synthesis of nanostructured tungsten oxide powders, coating of carbon nanotubes and investigation of carbon nanotubes as catalysts.
