To effectively oversee, monitor and intervene in the day-to-day operations of customs clearance in my allocated work area, currently N’djili Airport, DRC. To work alongside the Congolese managers and staff to ensure that revenue is maximized. To ensure that Congolese trade and society is protected from illegal imports and appropriate trade facilitation measures are taken within the location. To also evaluate existing systems and procedures and to promote and adopt new systems and procedures where required.

Reactive Investigation of importation offences of Prohibited and Restricted goods to the UK. Assessment of crime scene with a view to the retention of forensic evidence, Interviewing of suspects in line with PCEA 1984, consideration of telephony & digital evidence in line with RIPA 2000, disclosure of unused material in line with CPIA 1996. Consideration of material for evidential purposes and liaison with Detection Officers, Case Lawyers, Legal Executive Officers, Forensic Officers and other Law Enforcemen

Legal Executive Officer. Case managing prosecution files to ensure compliance to time critical court orders and directions. Liaison with Courts, Counsel, QCs, Solicitors, Para-Legals and Clerks to Counsel. Liaison with case officers and disclosure officers in order to comply with presentation of material to strict court timelines. Arrangement of and attendance at case conferences with counsel and case and investigation officers. Drafting of correspondence to Courts and Defence Lawyers and Counsel

Working as a Brigade team member for deployment anywhere in the UK on a 7 day on, 7-off rota. Examination of baggage and freight at ports and airports searching for high value illegal drugs and high value revenue goods. Also the search of private & commercial premises especially concerned in the detection of revenue goods for resale.

Working as a team member in the Examination of Baggage, Investigation of offences concerning the importation of illegal drugs and excess revenue goods. Processing of offence action, Risk testing and analysis, Liaison with other teams and agencies in the early investigation and assessment of detections.

Administration of European Community Transit documentation and post entry action. Clearance of military crews at RAF Manston and Civil-Fliers arriving for clearance at the Boarding Office.
