I provided leadership to a larger management accounting team (1 Finance Manager, 3 Senior Management Accountants and 3 Trainee Management Accountants) in delivering a broader service to the newly acquired portfolio of Community Services which grew from a £40m expenditure budget to that of £200m. My team’s remit expanded to also include 2 Additional Community Healthcare Services portfolios, Mental Health Services and the Social Care Partnership Services.

 Translating senior management requirements into financial models to enable informed decision making on potential private healthcare focused acquisitions, joint ventures and other growth opportunities across the group. Development of financial models for NHS negotiated contracts. Performance of financial due diligence when required.

• Prepared monthly (UK GAAP) financial statements and management accounts for review by the Finance Director, in addition to KPIs, variance analysis and forecasts. Treasury management. Managed finance team, responsible for all aspects of management accounting and financial accounting, with related reconciliations, audit schedules, returns, CAPEX, business cases and advisory services.

• Chased overdue debts from internal hospitals within the group and third party customers. • Aged debt reporting. • Prepared VAT Return and balance sheet schedules. • Running month end processes for the sales ledger. • Prepared variance analysis, ratio analysis, and adhoc reports for month end. • Assisted the Finance Manager with the preparation of audit schedules and reconciliations for the year end pack

• Managed a team of five staff. Advised the ED and Heads of Department on financial / accounting / budget / CAPEX issues • Prepared VAT, quarterly tax and other statutory returns, bank reconciliation. • Prepared monthly (UK GAAP) financial statements, management accounts, KPI analysis, forecasts, treasury management, variance analysis. • Inter-company accounting / reconciliation and adhoc reporting as required. • Prepared month end, quarter end and year end packs.
