Reporting to the European Director of Control, my responsibilities were financial reporting, coordination and consolidation of month end closing, financial planning, segment based management reporting, reports and presentations required by European Management Team and headquarters, Cognos BI maintenance and reconciliation.

Reporting to Finance Director for Iberia and France, my responsibilities were corporate reporting using Hyperion HFM system, month end closings, financial planning, P&L analysis and variance explanations, reporting and analysis of sales and contribution margins per product group, corporate tax, statutory and US GAAP accounts, account reconciliations, internal and external audits, local taxes, and other relevant reporting requests for group companies in Portugal and France.

Audit of Statutory Accounts in companies from service, industry, and catering sectors, in some cases Internal Control projects. The tasks included analytical review of Balance sheet and P&L accounts, audit of account payables, account receivables, financial debt, equity, assets, provisions and depreciations, amortizations, payroll accounts, tax, and deferred costs areas among others.

I was awarded Erasmus/Socrates scholarship to spend the last semester of bachelor studies at Aalborg University, Denmark, writing and defending the final thesis on the topic ‘The Role of Communication in Facilities Management’.
