Swiss Emmaus Leprosy Relief Work technically and financially supports leprosy relief projects in India. Since the supported hospitals extended their services beyond leprosy treatments (e.g. AIDS and Tuberculosis programs), a need for clearly defining the hospitals’ costs for leprosy services emerged. The bachelor thesis involved developing and introducing a best practice fee-for-service model at two hospitals and creating a benchmarking concept which would allow for vertical and horizontal comparison.
