I was responsible for building up a team of 5 placement professionals covering both conventional and Islamic investors world-wide to place shariah-compliant IWM as well as DCM products.

During my employment at WestLB I initially worked on the Emerging Markets fixed income sales team and since September 1998 in EMEA syndicated loan distribution team, covering a wide range of investors based in Europe, Asia and the GCC, placing primary and secondary market syndicated facilities. Since 2005 increasingly focused on Islamic financings when I placed a number of high profile deals (Islamic bonds as well as syndicated financings) primarily for the Middle Eastern corporates.

My career at HSBC started with the sovereign risk department in 1985 from where I moved to head the Emerging Markets Secondary Trading Documentation team. In 1992 I joined a team of Emerging Markets Asset Trading, Arbitrage and Debt Origination team focusing on exotic debt and originating new transactions for Latin American borrowers, subsequently moving on to the Emerging Market Fixed Income Sales team covering clients in Benelux, France, UK, Switzerland and offshore branches of LATAM banks.
