The company’s policy at the time was to refund part of the tax expenses to each one of the customers in each one of the single import procedures occasionally opened by Receita Federal (Federal Revenue Secretariat of Brazil). Considering the complex tax system in the country and the need (as per company’s policy) to give the best support to each customer during all the sale process, my main duty was to act directly to realize it and to support my team in this task.

Here I worked supporting Brazilian’s entrepreneurs, from the first approach to a trading company, passing through the samples confrontation and the selecting process to find the best suppliers, till the “shaking hands” in the factories (considering the particularities of the Chinese commerce structure I believe is important to underline, also, that I visited different kinds of Chinese factories: from family size factories to bigger companies and joint ventures with western companies).

At Rhodia I developed a general idea about how a multinational company works considering the rule which a legal consultant inside the company has: articulating and promoting the relationship between the different departments and at the same time facilitating its operations with external agents to the company (public and private ones).
