Structural strength analyses of ship cranes and their peripheral equipment. My primarily responsibility was dimensioning crane components for customer projects. This by performing mainly linear FE-simulations. The software IDEAS were used for simulations and pre and post processing.

Static and dynamic simulations of seat belt systems. Responsibility: Building simulation models, evaluation of simulation results and to present results and suggest improvements for customers. The objective was mostly to understand how the component behaves and to dimension them when they undergoes a crash. Hypermesh was used as preprocessor, Abaqus Standard for static simulations, Abaqus Explicit for dynamic simulations and Abaqus Viewer for postprocessing..

Structural strength analyses of chassie components for trucks. Independent project work in close co-operation with design and test departments. Responsibility: Create simulation models, evaluate simulation results, write reports, present the results and suggest improvements to “customers”. Tools: Abaqus, Ideas, Catia V4

ABB Generation develops and manufactures large electrical generators for steam, gas and hydro-turbines. My employment implied: -Calculation of structural strength for stators and rotors using IDEAS and in house software. -Building parameterised FE-models in IDEAS. -Dimensioning of radial and axial bearings using in house software. -Dimensioning of rotors using in house software for rotor dynamics. -Unix shell scripting and Fortran programming for in house software
